A fine and very personal miniature portrait, this depicts a woman and baby and dates circa 1830. The unusual headdress and necklace may indicate that she was of Indian or “exotic” origins. An appealing palette of blues and deep pink predominates and it is in excellent condition in a fine period mahogany frame.
